Short version. Your data stays on your device. I collect nothing, run no analytics, have no servers. The only network calls are AI requests to Google Gemini using your key.
01Who I am
MAX LVL is built by Andrew, a solo developer. No company, no team, no third-party processor between you and the app. Questions: support@maxlvl.app.
02What stays on your device
Stored locally in a sandboxed SQLite database. Never leaves your device unless you export.
- Habits, tasks, subtasks, completion history, streaks
- Trackers and tracker logs (water, calories, sleep, mood, weight, custom)
- Focus / Pomodoro sessions, XP, level
- Recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, food photo log entries
- Workout templates, programs, set-level logs
- Sleep recordings (audio files in the app's documents folder)
- AI coach conversation history
- Onboarding answers and identity / environment theme selections
- Insight Cards applied, reflections (morning, evening, weekly), challenge progress
- Wisdom favorites, books, reading sessions, skills, goals, milestones, gratitude entries
- App preferences and your Gemini API key
03What I do not collect
- Name, email, or any account information — there are no accounts
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs (beyond what the ad SDK requires for ad serving on the Free tier)
- Location data
- Analytics, crash reports, or usage statistics
- Payment information — handled entirely by Apple or Google
04AI features & Google Gemini
AI Coaches, Salion, food photo, meal plans, and voice capture all run through Google Gemini. Opt-in only — they activate when you paste a Gemini key into Settings. Requests go from your device straight to Google; I don't proxy or log them. Your key stays on the device. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy when used.
05Permissions
- Mic: sleep recording (saved locally) & voice capture (OS speech-to-text + optional Gemini parsing).
- Camera: food photo (sent to Gemini) & barcode scan (number-only lookup to Open Food Facts).
- Notifications: scheduled locally, never leave device.
- Steps: device pedometer (Android).
- Screen-time: UsageStatsManager (Android).
Revoke any permission anytime in device settings.
06Subscriptions
Pro is sold via App Store and Google Play. Payments handled by Apple / Google — I never see them. Subscription state is reconciled by RevenueCat with an anonymous user ID.
07Ads (Free tier)
Free shows ads from Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Pro removes them entirely.
08Security
Data lives in the OS-sandboxed app container with device encryption. No server, no breach surface beyond your device.
09Deleting your data
Settings → Reset All Data wipes everything. Uninstalling does the same.
10Children's privacy
Not directed at children under 13. Contact support@maxlvl.app with any concern.
11Changes
Material changes are surfaced in the app. The "Last updated" date reflects any revision.
